PlayStation 5 is Coming: Here is What You Need to Know

Since Sony announced the release of their Sony PlayStation 5 console for the end of 2020, we are all eager to find some new details about it. Having that in mind we have compiled a shortlist of the five things you need to know about the upcoming Sony PS5.

We are sure you will be excited when you hear what we can expect at the end of the year. So let’s check what’s coming.

Support for 8k resolution, combined with 3D audio and ray-tracing

The new Sony PS5 will support 8k resolution. At this moment, we have to say that this is not so amazing because hardly anyone owns an 8k TV. Of course, it is expected to see some changes on this plan but at the moment 4k is good enough and the PS5 will handle that easily.

The exact tech specifications are not available yet, but from the things we have heard, we are going to have a real beast in front of us. It is especially worth mentioning the internal chip which is based on AMD Ryzen accompanied by the AMD Navi GPU.

Ray-tracing will be also available which is perfect because it will make the games more realistic and the sound would be more realistic as well. The 3D object-based audio will make your listening experience amazing especially if you install wireless surround sound speaker system or get some good quality headphones.

The built-in custom SSD drive will be great

The following thing may not amaze you at the moment you will certainly love the SSD disc which will be installed into the PS5. We already know it will be much faster than the current-gen HDDs or the SSD you already have on your PC. It will allow much faster environment rendering which will make it possible for the player to move faster in the game. The only thing that worries us at the moment is the size of these SSDs. We just hope that the SSD will be large enough because today’s games tend to take much space and this will definitely continue in the future.

We will be able to play the same games as on our Sony PS4

Probably the best news about the PS5 is that we will be able to play the games we are already playing on our Sony PS4.

This is an excellent marketing move because, for example, the main selling point of the Xbox One was the so-called backward compatibility. This meant that people could continue playing a huge number of games made for Xbox and Xbox 360, they worked perfectly well on Xbox One.

We will see if Sony PS5 will do the same but being able to play all the games you already have will be perfect.

It will be a bit over the price, but it will be worth it.

According to the information you can find online, the PS5 will cost around $500. To be honest, it is a bit high, but when we take into account the top-notch hardware being used to build it, we can understand why will it cost so much. The only thing that worries us is that Microsoft can take it to its advantage with the release of the next Xbox console. In case they release the next Xbox at the same time as PS5, and if they make it more affordable, it will definitely have a negative effect on the sales of the new PS5. However, the only thing we can do about it is just to sit and wait.

The PS5 will launch at the end of 2020.

According to the information we have the launch of the Sony PS5 console is announced for the end of 2020. If we take into account that the PS4 and previously PS3 were launched in November, we can definitely expect the PS5 to be launched this November as well. Of course, it will be a great marketing move before the holiday season starts.

And that’s it for now. We hope you will find useful the five things you need to know about the upcoming Sony PS5. At the moment, based on the things we know, it will be a significant upgrade compared to the PS4. The processor, SSD, 3D audio, ray-tracing, and finally the 8k resolution support are a good reason to save some extra cash for the upcoming Sony PS5. Therefore, stay alert and get ready for the holiday season.
