How To Root OnePlus 5T.

For you to be able to Root OnePlus 5T, there are some certain processes you have to take. All you have to do is to follow our instructions one after the other.

There is a three process in rooting OnePlus 5T. The three process is

  1. Unlocking Bootloader
  2. Installing Custom Recovery and
  3. Rooting the phone.

Another thing important is the requirements.

For you to root OnePlus 5T, you will need to have all of this.

  1. A PC.
  2. A OnePlus 5T.
  3. A working USB Cord.
  4. A Little Coding Knowledge.
  5. Magisk zip file.
  6. A TWRP, CWM, CTR or Philz Recovery.
  7. An ADB Fastboot script.

First Process

Unlocking Bootloader.

There are many Android phones that come with locked bootloaders and OnePlus 5T is one of them.

Before you can do anything like rooting with the phone, you need to, first of all, unlock the bootloader.

To Unlock OnePlus 5T Bootloader.

  • Backup all your Stuff.
  • Go to settings.
  • Check if there is any Developers option.
  • If there is none.
  • Go to About phone.
  • Consequently, Tap on Build number till you get Developers Option.
  • Go back and you will see developers Option.
  • Go to Developers Option before About Phone.
  • Look for OEM Unlocking option.
  • Click on it to Enable it if it’s not enabled.
  • If enabled, Disable and enable it again.
  • You will get a warning message. Accept it.
  • If your phone is security code, you might be prompt to enter it and continue.
  • You will need to enable USB Debugging too.
  • Power off your phone.
  • Boot to Fastboot by pressing volume up and power Button Simultaneously.
  • To make sure your device is connected, enter this command.
    fastboot devices
  • If your phone is well connected and ready, it will tell you.
  • To Unlock your phone, send this command
    fastboot oem unlock
  • Wait for the progress Bar to finish.
  • Your phone bootloader is now unlocked.

Exception.

Most Android Phones comes with Bootloader unlocked or locked. Because we may not have had access to every Android phone, we cannot clarify whether the bootloader is locked or Unlocked.

What you have to do is, first of all, Check if there is Bootloader Option on your phone by Booting your phone to Fastboot by Pressing Volume Up and Power Button Simultaneously.

  • Go to settings.
  • Check if there is any Developers option.
  • If there is none.
  • Go to About phone.
  • Continue tapping on Build number till when you get the Developers Option.
  • Go back and you will see the developers Option on Settings
  • Go to Developers Option before About Phone.
  • Look for OEM Unlocking option.
  • If its there, then you will need to unlock your bootloader.
  • If it is not there, you don’t have anything to worry about.

Once there is no Bootloader on the phone, then, you can go ahead and use any Rooting app or software to root your phone. But if there is any, follow the next step which installing Recovery.

Remember to Rename Recovery Name to Recovery.img. Having a long Recovery name can confuse you when porting recovery. Paste the recovery to the User

SECOND PROCESS

How to Install recovery on OnePlus 5T.

  1. Copy the Downloaded TWRP to PC.
  2. Open CMD on PC.
  3. send this command
    fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
  4. Reboot your phone with this command
    fastboot reboot
  5. You now have TWRP on Your Phone.

You have to move next to the next step which is Rooting your phone. Follow the next step to root your phone. You have to copy the Downloaded SuperSU zip file to the root of your SD Card.

THIRD PROCESS

How To Root OnePlus 5T

  1. Boot to Recovery.
  2. Select Install Zip.
  3. Select the SD where SuperSU zip file is.
  4. Flash it.
  5. Your phone is rooted.Reboot to see SuperUser on your phone.

The Processes above is the three-stage we told you at the beginning of the post. Once you follow it, you will get everything you want with your OnePlus 5T.
